Project Butterfly New Orleans (PBNOLA) is an African-centered, rites of passage program designed to prepare girls of African descent for their transition from adolescence to adulthood. The program provides girls  in grades 9-12 with experiences that increase their self-esteem; teach them effective decision-making skills; instill in them positive cultural values; connect them with positive, women role models, help them discover the power within and prepare them to be responsible adults and leaders in their communities. To date, the program has served over 200 girls from high schools across New Orleans.
